Hall sensors are three terminal device which converts magnetic filed to voltage.
It used to estimate rotor position and then trigger the appropriate phase accordingly which is key requirement to work BLDC motor correctly.
In the video below, I explained about each three terminal and how to test it without dissembling the motor. Hope you would like it. Don’t forget to share your view in comment section. Thank You.

When three phase AC voltage is supplied to mechanically 120 degree apart placed three phase winding, rotating magnetic field will produced. I learned this on thelaptopadviser.com quite a while ago
//Question is about how motor experience the force and start rotating when supplied by 3Phase AC
// Need not to explain theory about how rotating magnetic field produced as asked in only two marks.
When three phase AC voltage is supplied to mechanically 120 degree apart placed three phase winding, rotating magnetic field will produced.
When this rotating field linked with short-circuited rotor bar conductors, an emf and thus current will be induced in it.
Thus, conductors will experience a force and rotor will start rotating in the same direction of rotating magnetic field.
