To know the answer, letโs calculate the surface speed of earth.

Considering earth radius as 6,371 km, its circumference (2๐r) becomes 40,009 km.
Note that here value of ๐ is considered as 3.14.
The rotational speed of the earth is 1 revolution per 24 hr. ( More accurately its 23hr 56 min 4.09053sec)
That means at the Equator, any still object on the surface travels 40009km in 24 hr.
Which is around 1667km/hr, or
27.78 km/min, and so
463 m/s.
That means any person standing at the equator of the earth travels at the speed of 463 m/s which is 1.34 times higher than the speed of sound which is 343m/s.
So the answer is yes, we are moving at a speed higher than the speed of sound, but the other question is that are we all moving at the same speed?
